Yes, the town of Jasper is subject to a simple and straightforward Property Owners Association (POA) that is 100% governed by elected members of the community. The primary responsibility of the board is to take care of the basic upkeep of the community such as plowing roads and administering the covenants (building standards, etc). The board has 2 annual meetings and dues are collected annually, which is $100 per deeded property at the time of this writing in 2018. The dues are generally very low and only minimal cost-of-living increases every few years. The POA rules and regulations are minimal but are enforced, especially collection of dues. If dues are in the rears (not paid), property owners can fully expect to pay fines and collection fees. In fact, there are several cases of property foreclosure due to lack of collection.
Property owners are encouraged to participate in the board, which gladly accepts nominations at the annual July meeting / picnic held in Jasper. If you are interested, feel free to email myself or any of the board members directly.
Are there building restrictions? I'm looking into a piece of property
