Over a hundred years old, here's another interesting find. I'm aware of several gold strikes in Jasper from the late 1800s, off and on for several decades. I believe this was one of the larger strikes which caused the largest influx of residents. Notice the article claims estimates of 500 people. Hard to imagine!
